The remembrance of the Virginia Tech tragedy can provide an opportunity for emotional healing.
Remembrance: Many survivors welcome the cleansing tears, commemoration and fellowship that the remembrance of the event offers. You might light a candle, share favorite memories and stories or attend a gathering to honor those lost.
Reflection: Look back over the past year, recognize how far you have come, and appreciate the courage, stamina, endurance and resourcefulness you have shown. Pause to appreciate and continue to seek the company of the family members, friends and others who have supported you through the healing process.
Resolve: Remind yourself that you persevered through the difficult period after the tragedy and that you will get through any difficult times you are experiencing now.
