You and others in the Virginia Tech community are trying to adjust your life and activities back to normal and achieve equilibrium. Using positive coping strategies that derive from your unique blend of internal and external strengths can help. These are the clusters of assets that comprise resiliency, and enable individuals to overcome adversity.
Internal assets can include healthy detachment, perseverance, perspective, initiative and resourcefulness. External assets can include unconditional love and support from family and friends, being held accountable by family and friends, and a safe physical environment with appropriate social and emotional boundaries.
